Wine Tasting: Obscure Grapes

16th April 2022 2pm3:30pm

While thousands of wine grapes have been identified worldwide, only a handful of these have managed to become popular. But today this tendency has changed.

Thanks to the work of the growers and domains who are rediscovering and preserving lesser-known varieties, we are moving away from the homogenisation that had characterised wine in the second part of the 20th Century.

From the Jura to Corsica, via Trentino Alto-Adige, we shine the spotlight on some outstanding wines made from these once overlooked grapes.

Join us at the lounge table for a tasting hosted by our sommelier James, who will share some of his favourite wines from our cellar, with snacks provided by the kitchen.

The wines:

2018 Emmanuel Giboulot, Terres Burgondes (Pinot Beurrot)

2019 Domaine Abbatucci, Faustine Rosé (Sciacarello)

2011 Julien Courtois, Savasol (Orbois)

2015 Domaine de la Tournelle, Cul du Brey (Trousseau, Petit Béclan, Syrah)

2020 Foradori, Morei (Teroldego)
