Few things are more exciting than finally enjoying a rare bottle that has been waiting in the cellar to be opened. Except maybe for coming across affordable, underrated wines where least expected.

A good place to look for, when in search of life-changing wines that don’t get the praise they deserve, is amongst those labelled as Vin de France.

The denomination, introduced in 2009 to replace vin de table, grants winemakers more freedom from the strict regulations imposed by the geographical appellation system, allowing them to combine personal taste, ancestral wisdom and innovative techniques.

Join our head sommelier James Lewis in the dining room La Cachette to taste some hidden gems from all of France, alongside snacks from the kitchen.

The Wines:

Alice & Olivier de Moor Vendangeur Masqué Caravan 2019

Domaine Romaneaux-Destezet VDF Blanc 2021

Julie Balagny B…j.l..s 2021

François Saint-Lo Hey Gro! 2020

Marie & Vincent Tricot Les Milans 2021
