New York City Guide

You loved last October's guide to Montreal, and this month our series is back with a new exciting destination, New York City.

From Soho, to the East Village and Brooklyn our founder Jonathan takes us to some of his favourite addresses in the big apple.

Enjoy!

Torien Step into this gem of a restaurant and instantly be transported to Tokyo’s best yakitori places. Incredible produce, great vibe, and they do corkage, what else could you ask for! Also, their private dining room is super cool if you’re with a larger group!

Wu’s Wonton House A quintessential New York haunt for the wine lover, the kind of place where you bump into other enthusiasts, collectors and industry people. The food is Cantonese, super fresh and wine friendly. It’s easy to spend hours here with a group of like-minded drinkers. An absolute must go!

Four Horsemen If Planque had an American cousin, this would be it. Immaculate vibes, nice interiors, delicious food by chef Nick Curtola and the most incredible wine list in the city. Could not possibly make the trip to New York and not spend an evening here. My favourite place in Brooklyn for sure.

Superiority Burger Elevated vegetarian food by chef (genius?) Brooks Headley. I loved the old location, which was so tiny. The move made the food even more precise and the space is super fun. I could eat there daily, and I always want to try the whole menu. I wish I lived close to it!

Peter Luger This is an institution, famous for its steaks, but I went for a casual lunch and just had the cheeseburger with a mountain of fries. It was perfect. The quality of the beef is second to none. You feel like you stepped into another time, in the best possible way. Loved it!

Altro Paradiso One of Ignacio Mattos’ restaurants, this is a lovely place to lose an afternoon trying all the pastas, with everything else in between. Good wine list too, and the room is so New York. Definitely a must go, for some precise Italian cooking and a great vibe at lunch.
